Making the “New Normal” as Safe and EZ as Possible

A Bob Dylan ballad in the sixties crooned, “The times, they are a-changin’ …” and that’s certainly true of these crazy, changing times we’re living through. One has only to glance at the headlines (and most of us are doing far more than that to stay informed) to know that the pandemic isn’t over, COVID-19 is still rearing its ugly head, and we must continue to take extra safety measures at home, at work, and in the community to protect ourselves and others even as we try to establish a sense of normalcy.

We’ve addressed our safety measures in the past, but because of the extended need for precautions, we wanted to let you know once again what we’re doing both to be here to serve you, and to keep everyone’s safety and well-being as a top priority.

First and foremost, people are the priority. You. Us. And our community.

Red Ventures CEO Ric Elias noted that, “How we take care of each other at work and at home will dictate how we come out of it on the other side.” We couldn’t agree more. We are doing everything we can in the WalkEZstore family (and that includes you) to take care of each other well.

And taking care of each other has grown in these uncertain times to mean more than it used to. It’s more than treating people well in a customer service sense. It’s genuinely caring about the whole person, and how they’re doing. Not just that their feet are well cared for and comfortable — which is admittedly a quality of life-changing issue. We’re here to hear you, too. Because sometimes it helps just to share and to listen. Even though we’re all going through the same or similar trials, it’s easy to feel isolated, which is not good for any of us. We like to think we’ve always gone the extra mile in that sense, because we do care deeply about our customers, but that’s even more true today than ever before. Perhaps it’s because we’ve been reminded through the pandemic of how fragile life can be; we must treasure it and each other, every single day.

We’re embracing necessary changes — being mindful of how many are in the office/lab at one time, following extra cleanliness guidelines, masking as instructed, making appointments, and offering remote conference appointments by phone or video.

We’re taking more time to check on each other, connect, and listen.

We’re over-communicating. About who we are, what we’re committed to, and how we can best serve you, today and always.

We’re encouraging both staff and customers to do what they feel is right for themselves and their families. If that means staying home, we can still serve. It’s especially important to have supportive comfortable shoes and slippers on your feet so even as you stay home, you can walk well in the house and regularly get out into the fresh air when possible. That’s good for your health and mental well-being especially during these times of social distancing, when we’re not typically “coming and going” as much as we used to. At WalkEZstore, we want you to be able to thrive regardless of the circumstances. So, if you have questions, or you just want to touch base — give us a call. We are open, we care, and we’re here for you.
