As you know, December is my busiest time of the year. And consequently, I spend a lot of time on my feet.
Every day, I supervise my elves and the toy manufacturing lines for several hours. Also, I put in quite a bit of time at my workbench, too, taking care of quality control issues and putting the final finishing touches on all of the toys, so they’re just perfect for all of those good little boys and girls.
Also, each day, I have to take care of my reindeer – which is no small task. Those reindeer sure do eat a lot! But, then again, they do need their energy to pull my gigantic sleigh on Christmas Eve. And, we put in many hours of training a week to ensure that Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen … well, you know all of their names… are in tip-top condition for their whirlwind flight.
As we get closer to the big day, I spend a significant amount of time going over my naughty and nice lists. And those are some sizeable lists! Plus the elves and I start packing my sleigh with all the presents I have to deliver.
On Christmas Eve, I’m constantly on my feet – getting in and out of my sleigh, going up and down chimneys, and placing gifts around the tree and mantle.
So, in the past, by the time Christmas Eve is finally over, and I crawl into bed – for my much needed rest – my feet, knees, hips and lower back are in considerable pain.
